Some fun CSS Grid behaviors/patterns I’ve found while working w/it:
Easy centered content w/collapsing full-width sections (really needs subgrid to be great, though): codepen.io/Snugug/pen/EowMpN
minmax(auto, x)
collapsing to roughly equal-width columns: codepen.io/Snugug/pen/aELMPJ -
@jensimmons Found that multiple
minmax(auto, x)
(with differentx
) become equal width columns when small; a truly morphing grid! I giggled with amusement when I saw that.Thanks for all the advocacy and teaching around Grid! Couldn’t be having the fun I am w/o you and @rachelandrew!

@jensimmons Omg I’m doing this all over the place. Love it! Also have been doing
1fr minmax(auto, 80ch) 1fr
(simplified) that will drop those outer columns to 0 width on smaller screens and center on larger for easy full-width banding and centering. -
