If you’re thinking about getting a router, avoid @NETGEAR like the plague. I was hopeful for my Orbi setup but every interaction with them is soul-draining and seems designed to get you to subscribe to BS, even in their router admin.

  1. @NETGEAR They wanted to charge me a 3 month subscription to talk to tech support or send me an email to walk through steps on my own. Walking through on my own, confirmed it was a firmware problem. Now, I just wait for it to be fixed. They took no diagnostics to debug the problem!

    1. Oh! Good news! The router automatically updated, even though I had that disabled, and now everything is broken again! At least I know how to fix it now, but time to yeet Netgear out of my life.

      1. Hey guess what! It happened a-fucking-gain! New system ordered, went with @Ubiquiti as a few people I know have mentioned them and they offer additional systems I’m otherwise interested in.

        1. @Ubiquiti OOO guess what! @UPS messed up my delivery! And it’s not at the usual “messed up my delivery” neighbors! Fun fact: whenever I order any kind of networking related gear, UPS manages to mess up my delivery!

          1. @Ubiquiti @UPS An update: I have it. Apparently “left at front door” means “left inside mailbox nowhere near any door that shouldn’t be expected to hold a package”
